"Battle for Brooklyn" is a documentary about a grassroots effort similar to Citizens for Oakwood. The film has won a barrelful of awards and accolades.
 
The director, Michael Galinsky, reached out to Citizens for Oakwood.
 
Michael is supporting grassroots efforts in every city where "Battle for Brooklyn" is shown, and called to say he asked the CIA Cinematheque to permit us to hold a Q&A discussion about our efforts to preserve Oakwood. Cinemateque agreed.
 
Join us at the Cinematheque at the Cleveland Institute of Art for "Battle for Brooklyn", a documentary about the decade-long battle of local residents to save their neighborhood from the gigantic Atlantic Yards development imposed by the owners of Forest City, the Ratners.

 

We will gather in the hallway outside the auditorium prior to the film; group discounts will be available to us at various levels depending on how many people join our group. Regular admission is $9. If we have 20 or more people, we can get in for $5 each.

Show times are: Friday, September 16 at 7:30 and Saturday, September 17 at 9:40. Please arrive 20 minutes early in order to get the special group rate. There will be Q&A after the viewing on each evening.
